About Eleanor

Eleanor is a recent new addition to the Los Angeles area. A 2023 graduate of Savannah College of Arts and Design, she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramatic Writing for the Stage and Screen. She loves writing for television, particularly female-focused dramedies, and considers it her lifelong mission to revive the early 2000s rom-com. She is currently the head writer for a new webseries, produced by Above Story Limited, coming soon to a small screen near you!

Hailing from Harrisonburg, VA, in the Shenandoah Valley, Eleanor has been singing and dancing her whole life. Starting in church choirs and baby ballet, she eventually graduated to roles in community and educational theatre. In high school, she was a member of the inaugural Fine Arts Academy, an interdisciplinary arts program run through her public school. Eleanor graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with minors in Musical Theatre and History.

When not writing in coffee shops around the LA area, you can find Eleanor reading, doing Disney-themed jigsaw puzzles, posting outfit videos on TikTok, or baking whatever treat she found on Pinterest that week.

Writing

Eleanor has loved words since before she could talk, and her dedication to storytelling is evident in all her work. A screenwriter and poet, Eleanor has been featured in numerous publications, including Miami University’s Happy Captive magazine and the 2021 publication Undergraduate Research in Theatre by Michelle Hayford. She received national recognition for her work as a co-author for That Was Then, including the Virginia Theatre Association’s 2016 special award for student-teacher collaboration and the runner-up slot in the one act competition portion of the 2017 Southeastern Theatre Conference.

For her Senior Capstone at Miami, Eleanor combined her love of theatre with her passions for activism, history, and women’s rights. After an intensive research and interviewing process, she created a piece entitled Tell Me About the Other Side, an example of documentary theatre surrounding women’s roles in genocide and post-conflict democracy. The play premiered at Miami University in February 2021.

At Savannah College of Art and Design, Eleanor was a staff writer for the pilot episode of the SCAD original sitcom, Tours and Attractions, filmed in November 2022. This experience introduced her to a love for collaborative comedy writing, something that pulls together both her theatrical background and quirky sense of humor. She was also part of the development team for the second episode of Tours and Attractions, filmed in May 2023.

Performance

Eleanor’s love of music came at a young age from her parents, both of whom have musical backgrounds. Her passion for music naturally led to her passion for theatre and storytelling, which has continued into her university studies. In 2016, Eleanor was the recipient of the Virginia High School League’s Award for Best Actor at the state championship level for her performance in That Was Then. While at Miami, she appeared in a wide range of productions, including Moliere’s Tartuffe, the musical Bat Boy, and the original piece Echoes of Miami.

Dramaturgy

Eleanor discovered a love for dramaturgy thanks to a few fabulous professors at Miami. During the summer of 2019, she interned at the American Shakespeare Center in the Literary department under the leadership of Ann Morgan. While there, she served as a dramaturgical assistant on their productions of Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, Caesar and Cleopatra, and The Grapes of Wrath. At Miami University, she was the dramaturg for the 2020 production of The Comedy of Errors.
